From Global Instability to Human Transformation: The Role of Coaching in a Changing World
What if today’s instability was not the beginning of a decline, but the transition towards a new model?
This was the reflection at the heart of the conference “The Role of Coaching in the New Transition: Using Global Instability as an Opportunity for Deep Human Transformation”, hosted by The Belgium Chapter of ICF and led by Pedro Correa.
Author, speaker, lecturer at HEC Liège and recognized voice on leadership and human transformation, Pedro Correa invited participants to look at today’s challenges from a different perspective.
Over the past decades, our societies have achieved extraordinary progress: technology, science, healthcare, material comfort…
And yet, alongside these advances, many people are experiencing increasing pressure, uncertainty, loneliness, or a loss of meaning.
What if what we are experiencing is not simply a crisis?
What if it is a transition?
A transition towards a world where success is no longer measured only by what we produce, own, or control, but also by what deeply connects us: meaning, emotions, human relationships, belonging, and our connection with life.
In this evolution, professional coaching has an essential role to play.
Coaches support individuals, teams, and organizations through periods of change. They create spaces for reflection where people can question their automatic patterns, explore new perspectives, and shape the future with greater awareness.
The afternoon combined several key moments:
- an inspiring conference to understand today’s major societal shifts;
- interactive conversations about the concrete role of coaching;
- a reflective workshop allowing participants to explore new approaches in times of uncertainty.
Beyond the content itself, this gathering also highlighted a fundamental dimension of coaching: the power of human connection.
The conversations continued after the event, reminding us that deep transformations often emerge when we create spaces to learn, share, and reflect together.

Et si l’instabilité actuelle n’était pas le début d’un déclin, mais le passage vers un nouveau modèle ?
C’est autour de cette réflexion que The Belgium Chapter of ICF a réuni sa communauté lors de la conférence “The Role of Coaching in the New Transition: Using Global Instability as an Opportunity for Deep Human Transformation”, animée par Pedro Correa.
Auteur, conférencier, professeur à HEC Liège et voix reconnue sur les sujets du leadership et de la transformation humaine, Pedro Correa a invité les participants à porter un autre regard sur les bouleversements que nous traversons.
Depuis plusieurs décennies, nos sociétés ont connu des avancées extraordinaires : technologie, science, santé, confort matériel…
Et pourtant, au cœur de ces progrès, de nombreuses personnes ressentent aujourd’hui davantage de pression, d’incertitude, de solitude ou une perte de sens.
Et si ce que nous vivions n’était pas uniquement une crise ?
Et si c’était une transition ?
Une transition vers un monde où la performance ne se mesure plus uniquement à ce que nous produisons, possédons ou contrôlons, mais également à ce qui nous relie profondément : le sens, les émotions, les relations humaines, l’appartenance et notre connexion au vivant.
Dans cette évolution, le coaching professionnel a un rôle essentiel à jouer.
Les coachs accompagnent les individus, les équipes et les organisations dans ces périodes de changement. Ils créent des espaces de réflexion où il devient possible de questionner nos automatismes, d’explorer de nouvelles perspectives et de construire l’avenir avec davantage de conscience.
L’après-midi a combiné plusieurs temps forts :

une conférence inspirante pour s'interroger sur les origines et implications des grands mouvements sociétaux actuels ;

des échanges interactifs autour du rôle concret du coaching dans ce contexte ;

un atelier réflexif permettant aux participants d’explorer leur propre perception et réflexions face aux grandes transitions.
Au-delà du contenu, cette rencontre a aussi rappelé une dimension fondamentale du coaching : la puissance de la connexion humaine.
Les discussions se sont prolongées après l’événement, confirmant que les transformations profondes naissent souvent lorsque nous créons des espaces pour apprendre, partager et réfléchir ensemble.

Rond deze vraag bracht The Belgium Chapter of ICF haar community samen tijdens de conferentie “The Role of Coaching in the New Transition: Using Global Instability as an Opportunity for Deep Human Transformation”, geleid door Pedro Correa.
Als auteur, spreker, docent aan HEC Liège en erkende stem rond leiderschap en menselijke transformatie nodigde Pedro Correa de deelnemers uit om met een andere blik naar de veranderingen van vandaag te kijken.
De afgelopen decennia heeft onze samenleving buitengewone vooruitgang geboekt: technologie, wetenschap, gezondheidszorg, materieel comfort…
En toch ervaren veel mensen, ondanks deze vooruitgang, vandaag meer druk, onzekerheid, eenzaamheid of verlies aan betekenis.
Wat als wat we meemaken niet alleen een crisis is?
Wat als het een overgang is?
Een overgang naar een wereld waarin succes niet langer alleen wordt gemeten door wat we produceren, bezitten of controleren, maar ook door wat ons diep verbindt: betekenis, emoties, menselijke relaties, verbondenheid en onze connectie met het leven.
Binnen deze evolutie speelt professioneel coaching een essentiële rol.
Coaches begeleiden individuen, teams en organisaties door periodes van verandering. Ze creëren ruimtes voor reflectie waarin mensen hun automatische patronen kunnen onderzoeken, nieuwe perspectieven kunnen ontdekken en bewuster kunnen bouwen aan de toekomst.
De namiddag combineerde verschillende sterke momenten:
- een inspirerende conferentie om de grote maatschappelijke veranderingen beter te begrijpen;
- interactieve gesprekken over de concrete rol van coaching;
- een reflectieve workshop waarin deelnemers nieuwe benaderingen konden verkennen tijdens periodes van onzekerheid.
Naast de inhoud herinnerde deze ontmoeting ons ook aan een fundamenteel aspect van coaching: de kracht van menselijke verbinding.
De gesprekken gingen verder na het evenement en bevestigden dat diepe transformaties vaak ontstaan wanneer we ruimtes creëren om samen te leren, te delen en te reflecteren.
